Oregon gas prices jumped 34 cents in just 30 days.
Sometimes these prices jumps are due to transitions or temporary occurrences. But Oregon can ill afford much price hikes because we are, according to AAA (3/17/24) #5 for the nation’s fifth most expensive gas.
Oregon ranks high on price because we not only have high State gas taxes but we have a “hidden gas” called the Clean Fuel Program that effectively taxes fuel businesses (by forcing them to pay for credits) and sends the proceeds to energy companies that environmentalists have selected. It is a tax scheme you can;t see but pay at the pump.
