We all know that Joe Biden has a very aggressive climate change agenda.
A big part of that agenda is pushing American drivers into electric vehicles (EVs.)
As part of the 2021 infrastructure bill, Biden allocated $7.5 billion for EV charging stations to be built, but only 38 charging spots are reportedly operating.
Big Money, No Production
Biden hopes to have 50% of all new cars sold in this country EVs by 2030, but to do that, he would have to address the concern of a lack of charging stations throughout the country.
Even the best EV can only travel a few hundred miles before needing another charge, so we would need an extensive network in place for his dream to become a reality.
So, when the new infrastructure bill was crafted, Biden earmarked billions to have charging stations built around the country.
However, there are only 38 operational charging spots, which are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, and Hawaii.
Four other states reportedly have new charging stations under construction, but they are not yet completed.
Even left-leaning organizations are now questioning if Biden can pull this off.
For instance, Alexander Laska, the deputy director for transportation and innovation at the Third Way, a left-of-center think tank, stated, “I think a lot of people who are watching this are getting concerned about the timeline.”
So far, there are construction contracts in 12 states, but 17 states have not even released proposals for the charging stations to be constructed.
Charging accessibility is the major concern for EV drivers, who are wary of traveling long distances in their EVs for fear of not being able to find a charging station or the charge taking too long.
If Biden cannot rectify this situation soon, his dream of a charging network across the United States will likely come to an end.
If he loses this election and Donald Trump is elected, you know Trump will start to roll back Biden’s policies, dealing Biden and Democrats a crushing blow in regard to moving our country away from Fossil Fuels (Renewable Energy) and utterly crushing Joe Biden’s legacy in the process.
