Two of the three squatters who took up residence in a $1 million home in New York have fled after a tense stand-off with the property’s owner and “vigilantes” who sought to evict them one way or the other.
Adele Andaloro, 47, was originally arrested for confronting the squatters who took over her home in Flushing, Queens while she was attempting to sell it in February. The home belonged to her parents who left it to her when they died.
According to the Daily Mail, a pair of “vigilantes” went to the home to confront the squatters and get them to leave.
“We are looking to get this guy out,” one of the so-called “vigilantes” who was wearing a pro-Trump T-shirt told the Daily Mail. “I am here to talk to him. I want to see why he is here.”

Two of the squatters, a man and a woman covered their faces and hastily fled the residence the next day. A third man named Kevin Ballesty says he’ll leave when he gets his deposit back.
Brave of them to do this in NY, could’ve ended very badly for them.
Good for them.
When you have complete breakdown of law and order and the justice system, you get vigilantism.— Riley (@pathforward327) March 21, 2024
“I have no idea what is going on here with this nonsense. I’m trying to get my money back and just get out of here. I have nothing to do with this,” he claimed. “I have receipts saying I paid the landlord and the real estate other than that I am no part of it. I wash my hands of this and I’m gone.”
“Late last month, the homeowner had a tense stand-off with the reported squatters after she had met with a news crew for an interview outside the home to discuss the crime. One of the reported squatters appeared outside during the interview and left the home’s front door open. Andaloro and the news crew entered the house, where they found one of the alleged squatters asleep and some of Andaloro’s personal belongings still in the house,” Fox News reported.
The news crew was with ABC7 and caught the confrontation on video.
“This is proving everything I said, this is my furniture, these are my curtains,” Andaloro said on the video.
I posted about Adele Andaloro yesterday, she was arrested & handcuffed, for having a standoff with squatters living in her home. They got to stay & she was arrested. Two vigilantes showed up in a pickup truck to confront the Squatters, they fled! Lol that’s how it’s done!

“Who are you, sir? Get out of my house,” she told a sleeping man in one of the rooms.
At that point, the squatter called 911. Andaloro called a locksmith to change the locks while he was doing that.
If someone has taken up residence in a home for at least 30 days in New York City, they can claim “squatter’s rights” and are next to impossible to evict.
“Police escorted the squatters off the property, while Andaloro had a locksmith come in and change the locks on the home. Before leaving, police warned Andaloro that she could face legal penalties if she were to change the locks because it is illegal to turn off any utilities or change the locks of a home where someone says they are a tenant,” Fox News noted.
ABC7 reported that less than ten minutes after Andaloro had the locks changed, one of the squatters who claimed to be on the lease barged through the home’s door. Police showed up soon thereafter.
Police informed the homeowner that “he can’t be kicked out, you have to go to court” and busted Andaloro for unlawful eviction.

Andaloro and her family are now leaving town to get away from the whole mess.
“The squatting case follows other high-profile squatting incidents in the Big Apple, including a separate case in Queens where a couple and their child, who has Down syndrome, say they have been unable to move into their $2 million home due to a squatter,” Fox News reported.
This also follows two squatters who are being sought after allegedly murdering a 52-year-old woman and stuffing her body in a duffel bag inside her late mother’s upscale Manhattan apartment last week, according to the New York Post.
People are beginning to stand up and do something since the authorities won’t or can’t.
In Seattle, roughly 200 protesters publicly shamed a squatter in a home there attempting to get him to leave.

In California, a group called the “Squatter Squad” is physically removing people from homes if they cannot produce a valid lease.

Vigilantism fills a vacuum when the police and elected leaders don’t stop lawlessness. It seems to be spreading across the country.
