A 64-year-old Ohio man has been charged with the shooting death of his 60-year-old girlfriend in Columbus.
Stewart Butler initially told police he shot Marchelle Freeman in self defense, but later said he shot her because he was mad that that she kicked and poked him, WSYX reported.
He told police the grabbed his gun and fired in her her general direction but didn’t realized he hit her until she immediately collapsed to the floor.
Then, court records say, Butler asked a neighbor to call 911.
Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Butler has been charged with murder, according to WBNS.
