Former President Donald Trump is promoting the “God Bless the USA” Bible as Holy Week is celebrated throughout the world.
The special edition Bible, which retails for $59.99, is inspired by singer Lee Greenwood’s 1984 hit “God Bless the USA” — which is blasted at Trump’s campaign stops — according to its website. It is a King James version of the holy text and includes the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I want to have a lot of people have it,” Trump said in a promotional video. “You have to have it for your heart, for your soul.”
Trump further says in the clip: “All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many… It’s my favorite book. It’s a lot of people’s favorite book. This Bible is a reminder that the biggest thing we have to bring back to make America great again is our religion.”
Trump has endorsed various Trump-branded projects, such as a recent launch of sneakers and a collection of digital trading cards featuring his image last year.
Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible. @TheLeeGreenwood https://t.co/1KK5QgVK85 pic.twitter.com/XoCIeGDpAg
