Even as our useless Republican House and its hair-gelled Speaker plan to expend billions more money we don’t have on jihad-run Gaza and Ukrainian oligarchs, the U.S. national debt hit $34.83 trillion.
Fox Business reported the number, which it drew from Treasury Department figures. According to Fox, the staggering $34,583,094,965,544.54 debt on Wednesday had shot up from $34,576,488,508,928.92 the day before—a more than $6 billion increase. We don’t have the taxpayer money to pay for our profligate federal spending as it is, and Congress seems to be increasing instead of restricting spending.
Taxpayers are now shelling out $1 trillion every year just to pay our national debt’s interest. That’s the equivalent of more than 40% of Americans’ personal income taxes all just to service the debt, not to pay for any of the other many, many other agencies and programs the government has. Not to mention a federal spending increase correlates to your personal debt increase as well as the national debt increase. Meanwhile Congress is busy passing legislation to provide funding not for our border, which is daily being flooded with terrorists, criminals, and foreign agents, but to fund Ukraine and Gaza (where nearly three-fourths of the people support Hamas and its terrorism). From Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ):
House Leadership buried $9 billion of aid to Gaza in the Israel aid bill. Hamas has repeatedly stolen aid designated for Gaza, and there’s nothing to stop them from doing so again. We’re funding both sides of a war.
It’s no wonder Israel can’t trust the U.S. now.
And again from Biggs (April 17):
The only path forward for substantive border legislation was to leverage the Biden regime’s push for more Ukraine aid. The House is now holding aid for Israel hostage to ensure Ukraine aid passes while our open border is neglected. This foreign aid package puts America LAST.
When will our congressmen grasp that they are frittering away our future?
