The uncanny intersectionality of Marxism and defending democracy came to the fore as failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams hinged society survival on a leftist tenet.
“…it’s an attack on eduction…our economy…”
A sit down with MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton saw the network spell election denier “Voting Rights Activist” after the National Action Network founder honored the political figure at an annual convention. Following the presentation of the NAN’s Shirley Chisolm Award at the Women’s Empowerment Luncheon, Abrams ramped up the hyperbole to defend the discriminatory entrenchment of DEI.
“What we know is that the attack on diversity, equity and inclusion, DEI, is an attack on democracy; it’s an attack on education; it’s an attack on how our economy works,” argued the one-time Democratic Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives in a clip that led critics to contend, “This makes no sense.”
NEW: Stacey Abrams says anyone who attacks Diversity Equity & Inclusion is also attacking democracy and the economy.
This makes zero sense.

Sharpton had specifically brought up the outcome of the 2020 election in Georgia that concluded with Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock replacing Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Purdue as the Peach State’s representatives in the upper chamber.
Emphasizing how Ossoff and Warnock had been elected as the first Jewish and first black senators of Georgia respectively, the MSNBC host leveraged the point to malign the GOP as he wondered, “Do you feel with all of the demagoguery and the — the real, I would say, base anti-women, anti-black, anti-Jewish kind of campaigning that we are seeing out of the Trumpsters, do you feel that that could be wiped away if we are not alert and mobilize the base?”
Abrams had linked their elections to DEI as she contended what they “represent are pathways to the American dream. They are proof points and those proof points scare those who want this world to be more narrow and more restrictive.”
The agenda-driven remarks were hardly a new tact for the twice-failed gubernatorial candidate who had gone to court over her 2018 loss to then-Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp (R).
Previously, during a discussion with MSNBC host and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Abrams had launched an attack against critics of Vice President Kamala Harris built solely around identity politics.
Psaki had asked about the scrutiny faced by Harris and posited to her guest, “as a prominent woman of color who’s run for office, do you think she would be receiving these same critiques if she was a white man?”
“No,” Abrams had responded before coaxing led her to add, “We will always question the person behind the person, but we cannot ignore that misogyny and racism remain very prevalent in our politics. And for those behaviors that don’t rise to either misogyny or racism, there’s also just the difference. Our expectations are set for the traditional white male vice president.”

Reactions to Abrams’ remarks slammed the activist claims for what they were as they also summarily bashed the “anti-Americanism” of DEI.
An attack on DEI is an attack on anti-Americanism, because America’s greatness comes from excellence in performance not quotas.

.@staceyabrams The attack on DEI is the attack on Communism.
DEI must be attacked and destroyed if America is to survive.

Attacks on DEI are attacks on racism, Stace. So we’ll go right ahead and keep on attacking it.

I’m pretty sure everything would improve if DEI was replaced with Meritocracy.
