Donald Trump has accused left-wing bad actors of damning actions trying to undermine him.
But one powerful entity may just be getting started putting its thumb on the scales.
And Donald Trump couldn’t believe what this Big Tech company just openly admitted.
Google just laid out its “misinformation” prevention framework for the world to see
Technology companies and governments across the globe have invested heavily in so-called “misinformation Prevention.”
These investments have ramped up leading up to this year, which will host major elections all over the world.
Google, for example, has made the crusade to police so-called “misinformation” a top priority, which Google outlined on its own blog last Thursday.
Annette Kroeber-Riel, who serves as Google’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Europe wrote on Google’s “The Keyword” blog last Thursday, detailing how Google will make an impact in the European elections this year.
Per Kroeber-Riel, “Up to 400 million citizens will vote in this year’s European Parliamentary Elections. At a time when access to quality information is key, Google and YouTube — together with partners the European University Institute and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with whom we are proud to champion the European Media and Information Fund — are convening experts across government, academia, civil society, and industry at our elections-focused Fighting Misinformation Online summit today in Brussels,” adding, “Our goal is to continue working together on key topics including media literacy, civic engagement, and mis- and disinformation in the context of artificial intelligence (AI).”
She added, “Earlier this year, we shared how we’re supporting the elections for European Parliament by surfacing high-quality information to voters, safeguarding our platforms and equipping campaigns with the best-in-class security tools and training — with an increased focus on leveraging AI to fight abuse at scale.
Furthermore, “Today, we’re sharing an update on how we’re working with the wider ecosystem to combat mis- and disinformation and support media literacy, and providing access to insights on relevant Search trends.”
This post outlines in detail how Google plans to make a splash in the European elections. Google has announced similar programs designed to police so-called “misinformation” in the American elections this November.
Many Americans fear that these tactics will suppress their First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
Google has earned a “woke” reputation with many internet users, especially following the botched rollout of their highly anticipated Google Gemini AI program, which placed a heavy emphasis on “wokeness.”
Examples have since emerged of Google Gemini rendering Nazi soldiers as black men and the Pope as a woman.
Big Tech will make a major impact on the upcoming elections
As Google has repeatedly outlined in its posts, combatting so-called misinformation is one of its top priorities this year.
However, time and time again, similar so-called “misinformation” prevention crusades have resulted in right-leaning reporters, bloggers, and online users having their content moderated and censored, despite violating no laws or user guidelines.
With the November elections approaching, many Americans fear that these “misinformation” prevention programs will make a major difference this year in Joe Biden’s favor.
