Top Democrats are feeling the heat now as election day draws closer. Those who have long been involved in Biden’s team can no longer deny that President Donald Trump is on his way to reclaim the Oval.
Since last month, Trump has proven that he and his team are on the right path. The former president was on the right track and has recently clinched five victories, among those were securing the Republican presidential nomination, reducing the bond amount on the civil fraud case from $454 million to $175 million, supporting Ohio candidate Berne Moreno, who won the Ohio Republican Senate Primary, closing the Truth Social merger, and proceeding to its public offering.
John Morgan, who was a top Democratic party donor, remarked that the liberals are “prepared to lose” the presidential race to Trump.
Morgan, who was a lawyer from Central Florida, also admitted that Joe Biden’s current political standing gets on his nerves.
“As my great-grandfather used to say, ‘I’m as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.’ Yes, hell yes,” the lawyer shared in an interview with the Washington Post.
“We all know this is a jump ball,” he added.
“In 2016, we were reading Nate Silver, and we weren’t worried at all. When we woke up, we realized we’ve never been to Wisconsin and we’ve never been to Michigan, and then all the Monday-morning quarterbacks are out.”
And he’s not the only one expecting a massive defeat. Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, remarked that losing in November was a toss between damaging and devastating.
“For me, it’s like, either damage or devastation,” quipped Rodriguez.
“Those are the two that I kind of go back and forth on. I think it would be devastating for our communities, and I think it would be damaging for our politics and for the policies that we have enacted.”
“What if Biden’s campaign manager can’t manage to keep it at bay?” The Post’s staffer, Jesus Rodriguez, asked.
Morgan quickly replied, “That won’t be the case for Julie.”
“Because we are all prepared to lose. No matter what, I don’t think people are going to blame Julie like people blame Robby Mook for Hillary. Because Hillary was supposed to win this.”
Even Bill Clinton’s former campaign manager, James Carville, expressed alarm at Trump’s current lead.
The MAGA leader managed to flip battleground states to red, leading Biden in six of seven states. Worse, Biden’s performance rating continues to drop, now at 40 percent, which is below the historic threshold of 50 percent for any incumbent to secure reelection.
“You have to be an idiot not to be nervous,” Carville said. “It’s uncomfortably close, and the alternative would be to end the Constitution.”
