Many Democrats still haven’t gotten over Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in 2016.
It still looks especially tough for Clinton.
But Hillary Clinton just slipped up and revealed Democrats’ plans following another Donald Trump win.
Clinton and allies set the stage for after the 2024 election
Hillary Clinton’s latest remarks reveal a core aspect of the Democrat’s post-election strategy.
Almost as soon as Donald Trump declared victory in 2016, his enemies claimed that so-called “misinformation” and “disinformation” from Russia, among other places, allowed Trump to win.
Those claims cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2016 election.
And now, some have already begun echoing these excuses with the 2024 Presidential Election looming.
Just last Thursday, Hillary Clinton extrapolated on previous claims at a Columbia University event called, “AI’s Impact on the 2024 Global Elections.”
Per Hillary Clinton, “I don’t think any of us understood it. I did not understand it. I can tell you, my campaign did not understand it. Their, you know, the so-called ‘Dark Web’ was filled with these kinds of memes and stories and videos of all sorts…portraying me in all kinds of… less than flattering ways.”
She added, “And we knew something’s going on, but we didn’t understand the full extent of the very clever way in which it was insinuated into social media.”
Hillary Clinton’s Thursday remarks echo other claims made by prominent politicians and media figures over the last several years.
Already, these same people have started to excuse presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump for profiting off so-called “misinformation.”
However, Donald Trump is not the only presidential candidate who sits in the crosshairs of “misinformation” prevention fanatics.
Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also faces pressure, mostly from the Left, for allegedly perpetuating so-called “misinformation.”
On Monday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. addressed accusations that his campaign used “misinformation” to lure voters, pivoting the blame to Joe Biden, who Kennedy believes has done more to erode American democracy and public trust in the government.
Per Robert F. Kennedy Jr., “President Biden is the much worse threat to democracy, and the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history – the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent.”
He added, “But the question was, who is a worse threat to democracy and what I would say is … I’m not going to answer that question, but I can argue that President Biden is because the First Amendment… is the most important.”
“Misinformation” prevention represents a core strategy for Democrats this fall
Although many Democrats claim that Donald Trump threatens American democracy, these same people often refuse to accept the results of the 2016 election, blaming the spread of “misinformation.”
But as Kennedy pointed out in his interview with CNN Monday, many Americans do not believe Joe Biden when he points the finger at him and Donald Trump for spreading “misinformation.”
Whether it is silencing journalists or casting doubt on the results of the 2016 election, many Americans agree that Joe Biden and his administration have done far more to erode American democracy than any other President in recent memory.
