Given the crushing weight of the economic sanctions that are currently being rolled against the Kremlin, there is little doubt that life in Russia is about to become very unpleasant, and likely for just about everyone involved.
Words like “crippling” have been used to describe the sanctions so far, and this is prior to the EU possibly enacting an energy embargo against Russia.
With their quality of life about to take a nosedive, Russia’s most talented are likely to be rethinking their geographical situation, and the US is now looking to take advantage of that fact.
President Brain-Dead Biden has proposed looser visa restrictions for highly educated Russians looking to enter the US, a move the White House hopes will draw the country’s “best brains” away from Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s regime.
Biden asked Congress last week to change the Immigration and Nationality Act so that Russian professionals with master’s or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math can apply for a working visa without needing to be sponsored by an American employer, according to the request document.
The change would also require the Department of Homeland Security to “expedite consideration of such applications,” it said.
There is some eerie irony in the move however, as the United States performed a similar maneuver at the onset of of World War II, enticing Germany’s best and brightest to the relocate to America.
