Killer Alec Baldwin responded to questions on social media about “why” he and wife Hilaria Baldwin keep having kids after recently announcing that they are expecting their seventh child together.
“People ask why,” the 64-year-old actor captioned his post on Instagram Thursday. “This is why. Being a parent is the ultimate journey.”
The “Saturday Night Live” star’s post included a video featuring one of the couple’s children laughing, smiling, and giggling.
In the background we can hear what sounds like the actor’s voice asking the child “who that?” as the child looks at the screen.

Reading through the comments is a message from the youngest of the Baldwin brothers, actor Billy Baldwin.
“The smiles, giggles, joy…[heart emoji],” the “Backdraft” star wrote.
As previously reported by The Daily Wire, Alec and his wife announced in March that the two were expecting their seventh child together:
“After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting and huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall,” Hilaria, 38, posted to Instagram Tuesday. “We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise.”
The accompanying video featured the couple’s other children hearing the news.
“I’m sharing with you the moment we told the kids–as you can see, they are super excited! Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times. I’ve missed you during my break from social media…I’m back and looking forward to continuing with you this wild journey that we call ‘life.’ Our love to you and your loved ones.”
Baldwin also confirmed the news that the two were expecting with a video showing one of his kids eating in a high chair.
“If you look at the spaghetti sauce carefully, it says ‘I’m getting another sibling,’” he captioned the post.
The “Beetlejuice” star and Hilaria share daughters Maria Lucia Victoria, 1; Carmen Gabriela, 8; and sons Rafael Thomas, 6; Leonardo Angel Charles, 5; Romeo Alejandro David, 3; and Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 1.
Alec also has a 26-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
Baldwin and Hilaria tied the knot in 2012. In 2019, the actor’s wife suffered two miscarriages. She shared the heartbreaking news in 2021 in a post on social media.
“When I lost my babies in 2019, I will always remember thinking my tears would never stop,” Hilaria wrote. “I will always be sad, they still flow from time to time, and I hold this sadness written permanently in the pages of my life’s book. I also welcome and rejoice in my two rainbow babies, feeling that I am such a lucky mama.”
“We open and heal out loud not only for ourselves, but to let our sisters know that they are not alone,” she added. “My mantra was: I’m not ok, but I want to be ok. This hurts, I want to process, I’ll allow myself to vent the pain, and I want to see the beauty in life again.”
