President Donald Trump said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is “totally against Jewish people” during remarks delivered at the White House on Thursday.
Trump’s sole public appearance of the day came during an event stumping for the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, the expansive tax and spending legislation Republicans hope to send to the White House by July 4.
Trump brought up Schumer, who is Jewish, during a rant against Democrats and support for pro-transgender policies.
“It’s crazy, and it’s so demeaning, and they don’t want to change. I saw it the other day, guys like Chuck Schumer, our great Palestinian senator,” Trump said, earning pained laughs from the crowd. “He’s changed. He used to like Jewish people. Now he’s totally against Jewish people. It’s the most incredible transformation I think I’ve ever seen.
Just a few days prior, Trump used the same nickname to describe Schumer in a post lashing out at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
