
Senior Iranian officials fleeing Tehran are seeking refuge in Canada, according to security analyst Casey Babb.
“We know that over the last several years, many, many senior officials of the Iranian regime, despite inadmissibility laws, have already made it in here,” Babb, a senior fellow with the MacDonald Laurier Institute, said in an interview this week with The Ben Mulroney Show.
Already, 20 Iranians who served in high-level positions with the Tehran government have been found to be living in Canada, according to Global News.
Iran’s supreme leader rejected U.S. calls for surrender in the face of more Israeli strikes Wednesday and warned that any military involvement by the Americans would cause “irreparable damage to them.” European diplomats prepared to hold talks with Iran on Friday.
The second public appearance by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei since the Israeli strikes began six days ago came as Israel lifted some restrictions on daily life, suggesting that the missile threat from Iran was easing.
