Each day I am posting a message and photo on Instagram that has nothing to do with news and politics. There is more to life than the nonsense we must deal with each day from criminals, politicians, and idiots. There is good in the world, and there is good in each one of us that wants to escape and feel free. Read more below my post.

Every morning, and even on most evenings I take time to close my eyes and breathe. It helps a ton!
Some researchers believe deep breathing on a daily basis for no less than 8-minutes can add years to your life. It doesn’t cost anything, so why not give it a try.
Deep breathing holds significant importance for both physical and mental well-being. Here are several reasons why:
Stress Reduction: Deep breathing triggers the relaxation response, which helps reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol. This leads to a decrease in anxiety and promotes a sense of calmness.
Improved Oxygenation: Deep breathing increases the oxygen supply to your brain and body, which can enhance cognitive function, boost energy levels, and improve overall vitality.
Enhanced Respiratory Function: Regular deep breathing exercises strengthen the diaphragm and other respiratory muscles, leading to better lung capacity and efficiency.
Better Sleep: Deep breathing techniques, especially when practiced before bedtime, can promote relaxation and help you fall asleep faster and experience deeper, more restorative sleep.
Strengthened Immune System: Deep breathing stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps in the elimination of toxins and strengthens the body’s immune response.
Pain Management: Deep breathing can help alleviate pain by reducing muscle tension and promoting relaxation. It is often used as a complementary therapy for chronic pain conditions.
Improved Digestion: Deep breathing can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for digestion and relaxation. This can aid in digestion and alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort.
Emotional Regulation: Deep breathing techniques, such as mindful breathing, can help regulate emotions by promoting mindfulness and self-awareness. This can be particularly beneficial for managing mood disorders like depression and anxiety.
Increased Focus and Concentration: Deep breathing exercises can help clear the mind, improve concentration, and enhance cognitive function by increasing oxygen flow to the brain.
Promotion of Mind-Body Connection: Deep breathing encourages awareness of the connection between the mind and body, fostering a greater sense of holistic well-being.
Incorporating deep breathing exercises into your daily routine can have profound effects on your physical and mental health, contributing to a happier, healthier lifestyle.
