A smiling former president said he was “tempted” to talk with the media amid questions about his surprise stop at London’s 10 Downing Street.
In Washington, D.C., the House Judiciary Committee’s investigation on the weaponization of the federal government has been heating up, including scrutiny of former CIA Director John Brennan. Now, as the once top spook faced allegations of coordinating spying on then-candidate Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, his one-time boss, then-President Barack Obama, held a previously unannounced meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
“What was he doing dropping in on the British prime minister? The last time Obama colluded with Britain they gave us the Russia hoax,” said Fox News host Jesse Watters in reaction. “Now on his way out, he teased reporters saying he didn’t want to give away too much.”
“The meeting lasted about an hour. They claim it was to discuss the Obama Foundation. Do you believe that?”

A spokesman for Sunak told the Daily Mail, “[Obama] was making an informal courtesy drop-in as part of his trip to London, where he is conducting work of the Obama Foundation.”
“I think President Obama’s team made contact and obviously the Prime Minister was very happy to meet with him and discuss the work of the Obama Foundation,” the spokesman added. “They discussed a range of issues, including international affairs and AI.”
The host of “Jesse Watters Primetime” also made note that Obama had visited the Laeken Castle in Belgium over the weekend and met with King Philippe and Princess Elisabeth after speaking about the dangers of AI at a technology festival.
Watters challenged the official story, likening it to another former president’s tarmac talk, “It’s kinda like Bill Clinton was talking to Loretta Lynch about her grandchildren. Come on. Is the Obama Foundation the same kinda deal as the Clinton Foundation? Maybe Trump’s Justice Department should look into it. It’s always hard to tell the difference between personal business and official business these days anyways.”
What was known was that as Obama was seen departing 10 Downing Street alongside U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom Jane Hartley, he told reporters “I’m tempted” when asked to field their questions.
Meanwhile, a week earlier Republican Ohio Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Turner, chairs of the Judiciary Committee and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence respectively, had submitted a letter to CIA Director William Burns seeking documents ranging from Jan. 1, 2016 to the present that referred to Crossfire Hurricane, the Steele Dossier and anything related to “requests for foreign intelligence agencies to surveil individuals associated with the campaign of Donald J. Trump, including, but not limited to, communications between employees of the CIA and employees of foreign intelligence agencies.”
Foreign governments “by chance” found Trump advisors colluding with Russians, the CIA said. But they didn’t. The CIA asked them to spy, illegally. The visit prompted others to question whether Obama’s trip may have been in violation of the Logan Act, a federal law that prohibits direct or indirect interaction with any “foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States…”

Imagine if Trump was meeting with the PM of England. How fast do you think he’d get indicted for violating the Logan act?
