Progressives melted down over Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling that states could not disqualify former President Donald Trump from appearing on the 2024 presidential ballot, with some even suggesting that the court be “dissolved.”
In a historic ruling that came Monday, the Supreme Court said only Congress can disqualify a federal candidate from the ballot using the Fourteenth Amendment’s “Insurrection Clause.” The ruling — which comes right before Super Tuesday — overturned a 4-3 opinion from the Colorado Supreme Court in December that banned Trump from appearing on the ballot.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold went on MSNBC for her meltdown, and lamented that now it will just be up to the voters to “save our Democracy.”
A number of other liberal Democrats lashed out on social media.
Political commentator Keith Olbermann really went to the extreme, demanding that the Supreme Court be “dissolved.”
“The Supreme Court has betrayed democracy. Its members including Jackson, Kagan and Sotomayor have proved themselves inept at reading comprehension. And collectively the “court” has shown itself to be corrupt and illegitimate. It must be dissolved,” he wrote.

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy fired back at Olbermann, writing, “Open your eyes to which side is trying to overthrow our Republic.”

Liberal anti-Trump actor Rob Reiner posted soon after the Supreme Court’s decision was announced, “During Watergate, White House counsel John Dean told Richard Nixon that there was a cancer on the Presidency. Now, in Donald Trump, we have a cancer on American Democracy. This November, with a vote for Joe Biden, we can remove that cancer.”

Harry Sisson, a young Democrat influencer, whined, “Insurrection sympathizer Clarence Thomas ruled that insurrectionist Donald Trump can remain on the ballot in 2024. That should be the headline.”

CNN’s Dana Bash whined about the Supreme Court’s decision, saying, “Unfortunately for America, the Court isn’t necessarily wrong that this is the way the Framers wanted it to be. They wanted Congress, the people who are closest to their constituents, to be able to make the rules and the laws.”

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace had an on-air meltdown as well, as she rattled off a long list of wild allegations against Trump and wondered “why any decent, sane person would vote for Trump.”
MELTDOWN: It’s less than 2 minutes from MSNBC. It’s emblematic of the liberal media still not getting it, wondering why any decent, sane person would vote Trump.
