“You’re fired!” Those were the words heard by about 60 employees of the Republican National Committee today as Donald Trump began putting his final stamp on the Republican Party after ousting Ronna Romney McDaniel. Buh-bye, Ronna. You will not be missed. The Trump takeover could be a good thing, a bad thing, a stop the rot thing, or a meh thing. I just don’t know.
Many of us were wildly disappointed with Ronna McDaniel’s version of the Republican National Committee for a long time. We were dismayed that Trump backed her for another year. This change over is welcome along as The Republican National Committee and The Republican Party are responsive to this new version of the GOP. We are real people in the real world and we are tired of being well-mannered losers. The likes of Mitch McConnell do it so well. No mas. We want to win.
I heard that. I don’t believe Trump “lost” in 2020. I believe the Democrats cheated and had a better ground game. I believe that the Bush/Cheney/Romney faction of the GOP worked to undermine Donald Trump. The Republican Party would have lost in 2016 without Trump. Jeb! “Please clap!” Really. As I wrote last April, Donald Trump “brought the enthusiasm that dragged the dead elephant’s carcass over the finish line” in 2016.
So, Donald told Ronna, “You’re fired.”. Trump brought in North Carolina. He brought in NC GOP Chairman Michael Whatley and he brought in his son Eric’s wife Lara. Even better, Donald Trump brought in Chris LaCivita, who had been at the Republican National Committee’s D.C. headquarters. Chris is a combat wounded Marine from the first Gulf War. Chris has been in and around GOP politics for close to 30 years. That doesn’t mean he is part of the Republican National Committee rot.
From the Washington Post:
One of the people familiar with the firings said data, political and communications staffers were affected, and notifications were made on Monday by Chris LaCivita, a senior Trump adviser who was at the Republican National Committee’s Capitol Hill headquarters. LaCivita had complained about the staff of the Republican National Committee for several months, people who spoke to him said, and long planned to make changes. The Trump adviser had studied the organization’s payroll and employees for several weeks, the person said.
That’s not it at all.
As far as 4/5 senior staffers who were asked to resign, they were the people in charge of political/comms during all of the losses. Obviously they didn’t have their finger on the pulse of America. https://t.co/nabIJADhRB

Yeah, this was not about a loyalty oath. Firstly, the texts and emails from the Republican National Committee have been insulting for years now. LaCivita actually studied the area. So, shut your piehole. I think LaCivita is going to be a huge player in this cycle.
What about Whatley and Laura Trump?
More from the Liberal Washington Post:
The Republican National Committee voted Friday to install the new leaders, which include Michael Whatley as chair and Lara Trump as co-chair. Lara Trump is the former president’s daughter-in-law. LaCivita, a top aide for Trump’s 2024 campaign, took over as the committee’s chief of staff.
In a speech Friday, Whatley said the Republican National Committee “will work hand in glove with President Trump’s campaign” as he faces an expected rematch against President Biden.
The Republican National Committee is at a crossroads in a critical election year. According to a January campaign finance filing, it had a historically low $8.7 million cash on hand compared with $24 million at the Democratic National Committee. More broadly, Trump and his allies are racing to close a fundraising gap with Biden and his affiliated groups.
“We have to raise a lot of money,” Lara Trump said Friday.
Try not speaking to us as if we are dunces. The way Ronna’s crew did. You’re fired.
Republican National Committee just fired around 60 employees.
This is phenomenal news.
Why it was technically Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump who did the firing we all know where the heart of these moves came from.
This reminds me of when Elon axed 75% of Twitter.

Other than raising a lot of money, what does the new Republican National Committee team plan? From Yahoo! News:
Lara Trump, recently elected co-chair of the Republican National Committee, said the GOP must use “legal ballot harvesting” to stay competitive against Democrats ahead of November.
“We’ve been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess,” Trump, daughter-in-law to former President Trump, said in a recent interview with the Washington Examiner. “Unfortunately, we don’t have one day of voting, we don’t have paper ballots, we don’t have voter ID everywhere. So we have to play the hand that we’re dealt.”
She emphasized the importance of early voting and mail-in voting where possible.
“That way, we have votes banked as we head into Election Day, and we’re not playing catchup on Nov. 5 with the Democrats,” she said.
“We need to be doing legal ballot harvesting – something that has never been done by the Republican National Committee, but I can promise you will be a huge part of what we’re planning to do,” Lara Trump told the Examiner. “And then come Election Day, and you’ll see that, I think, it’s not just about having poll watchers. It’s about having trained poll watchers and lawyers at locations around the country as necessary. And these are people who will be trained and able to physically count how many ballots are coming in. And how many ballots are going out.”
Look, I want one National Election Day, but it ain’t happening this cycle. We have to play the game by the rules that are here now.
Will the Trump Team make a difference? I sure hope so. We have a country to save. If they don’t win, we’ll say, “You’re fired!”.
