Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that liberal loudmouth Joy Behar had privately apologized to Vice President Mike Pence for likening his Christian faith to a “mental illness.”
However, while Pence appreciated Behar’s apology, he recently called on “The View” co-host to publicly apologize to the “tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended.”
Speaking with Sean Hannity on Monday, Pence said that he gave Behar “a lot of credit” for picking up the phone and apologizing to him, but added that she still owed an apology to the millions of Americans she’d slandered with her bigoted comments:
“I give Joy Behar a lot of credit. She picked up the phone. She called me. She was very sincere, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you’ve been forgiven,” Pence told Hannity.
Hannity told Pence that his faith also taught him to forgive but added, “I’m not as good at it as you.”
While Pence forgave Behar, he encouraged her to publically apologize.
“I’m still encouraging her, to use the forum of that program or some other public forum, to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended,” Pence said.
“You and I know that criticism comes with public life,” Pence added. “But, I felt it was important that I defend the faith of tens of millions of Americans against that kind of slander.”
So, how did Behar react after such a public call-out?
Believe it or not, she actually apologized. During the Tuesday episode of “The View,” Behar agreed that she’d crossed a line. “I think Vice President Pence is right … I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith. I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said.”
Watch the apology below.
It’s nice that Behar finally apologized. However, it took exactly one month and a public call-out from the Vice President of the United States for her to do so. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time she’s had to apologize about something moronic and hateful that she’s said. If she has any common sense, she should seriously stop personally attacking people with whom she disagrees.
