As many of you know, I have battled G.I. issues for years. One of the problems I was diagnosed with is called “Dumping Syndrome.” In short, your stomach empties too quickly.
In my case, it was causing all sorts of problems. Going to the bathroom was not a pleasant experience. Without too much detail, my stool was not coming out normal. It also caused me to get dizzy, as it would impact negatively my blood sugar. Overall, it was a total mess and made me feel like I was dying a slow death.
I went to the Mayo Clinic. They diagnosed me with Dumping Syndrome. Although Dumping Syndrome is typical for someone who has gone through gastric surgery, in my case there was none. Meaning, I did not have a surgery to cause the issue. Read below the Instagram post to get the fix I received from Mayo Clinic.
The fix was simple. Mayo had me change my diet in terms of how I ate and drank. Here is how it works:
Wake up. Drink. Coffee is fine. Tea is fine. Or room temp water. DO NOT EAT.
Wait two hours.
Meal one. Morning. Eat but do not drink anything.
Wait two hours.
Drink. Full bottle of room temp water. Do not guzzle. Drink slow.
Wait two hours.
Meal two. Lunch. Eat but do not drink anything.
Wait two hours.
Drink. Full bottle of room temp water. Do not guzzle. Drink slow.
Wait two hours.
Snack. Eat but do not drink.
Wait two hours.
Drink. (Same as above)
Wait two hours.
Eat dinner. If you need to sip some water to wash down whatever it is, fine. But very little liquid.
Wait two hours. Drink a little bit of water. Not a lot.
Wait three hours from the time you finished dinner before going to bed with an empty stomach.
Do this for two weeks and watch the magic happen. And it worked for me. Eating healthy, and limited portions without sacrificing good nutrition is a key to the success.
