Obama slams Americans who watch Fox News: ‘You are living on a different planet’

Former President Barack Obama recently lashed out and denounced Americans who choose to get their news from Fox News.

What did he say?

Obama was speaking with former late-night talk show host David Letterman on Letterman’s new Netflix show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” The show released Friday morning but was taped last fall.

During the wide-ranging interview, Letterman asked Obama what he thought was more dangerous: A president who attacks the media or a foreign power attempting to sway a democratic election. The question was an obvious jab at President Donald Trump, but Obama answered it without referring to his successor.

“One of the biggest challenges we have to our democracy is the degree to which we don’t share a common baseline of facts,” Obama said, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

“What the Russians exploited — but it was already here — is we are operating in completely different universes. If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you, you know, listen to NPR,” he added.

According to Fox News, the jab received a round of applause from the crowd.

Obama has a long history of denouncing Fox News and the conservative media, especially during his years as commander-in-chief. However, Fox noted that this was Obama’s first direct shot at the news network since leaving office last January.
