On Wednesday, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered her State of the State address.
Sanders made the annual address following the convening of the state’s 94th General Assembly Fiscal Session.
Arkansas lawmakers are convening at the Capitol and their top agenda item is taking up Gov. Sanders’ $6.3 billion proposed budget for the coming year.
Sanders last month proposed a budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1 that increases state spending by 1.76% over the previous year.Nearly all of the $109 million increase would go toward education and is related to a law Sanders signed last year that created a new school voucher program.
“Last year, I made promises. This year, I’m reporting results.”
