While you are not likely to ever hear discussion on MSNBC about a lack of white players in the NBA, the network seems concerned about there not being enough black players in Major League Baseball.
MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” promoted a piece from Ja’Han Jones whining about just that, and it was run on the network’s website.
“The number of Black American players in Major League Baseball has plummeted to just 6%, offering a warning about what can happen when institutions de-emphasize diversity,” the show’s official X account posted.
Here’s a taste of what Jones is peddling:
As Major League Baseball celebrates Jackie Robinson and his pioneering contributions to the game, I can’t help but think about the fact that the league is reporting a historically low number of Black American players in its ranks: only 6%.
I think this is a teachable moment at a time when diversity efforts across various arenas (no pun intended) have come under attack. Major League Baseball, unfortunately, is a prime example of what it looks like to talk the talk without always walking the walk.
In effect, Jones is using a dip in black MLB players to attack rightful efforts to rid the nation of actual racism, which is the Marxist-inspired diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) scourge — his efforts falling under the left’s infamous never let a good crisis go to waste.
Yet, with black Americans accounting for just 13% of the U.S. population — as remarkably low as that figure sounds, given their footprint in post-Obama America — Jones evidently does not have a problem with black players making up 53% of the NFL and 73% of the NBA.
The problem for the left is that they have a select view when it comes to diversity, as writer Wesley Wang pointed out.
“The MLB is about 30% Latino (including many Afro-Latinos) and has the most Asian players of any major sport in America. It seems that Latinos and Asians aren’t seen as ‘real’ diversity,” he tweeted.
“The MLB is the only major sports league in America where Latino and Asian players have any presence at all. There are almost no Latino/Asian players in the NBA, NFL, and NHL, while the MLB regularly promotes Latino players like Guerrero Jr. and Asian players like Ohtani,” Wang added in a follow-up post.

On a positive note, more and more Americans appear to be waking up to the shake-down that the left engages in every time they play the race card.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Bro we’re never going to be the right kind of minority in America.

There’s a reason the B is first in BIPOC

Is it possible some races are better at other sports? Could it be that the NBA is not actually racist but black players are better? Could it be Latin players are marginally better at baseball, maybe even white players are better at some things?

It’s not the right type of race, though, for the @thereidout…racist.

Diversity always means black.
The NBA is diverse. Football is diverse. Baseball is not diverse. Golf is not diverse.
