Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) is hitting Joe Biden hard over a policy change.
Ernst claims that the border crisis created by Joe Biden is now so “out of control,” that Biden is diverting resources from veterans to help pay the costs of the illegal immigration.
Ernst blew up the Biden administration last week on the issue.
Stop Stealing
Ernst has been hitting Biden hard over the immigration issue almost since Biden took office.
Now she is turning up the heat, however, claiming that Biden is “willing to steal from our nation’s heroes and divert resources away from their care.”
Ernst is a decorated combat veteran who served in the Army and the Iowa Army National Guard and retired as a Lt. Colonel.
She served with the 1168th Transportation Company and the 185th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
She had been awarded, among other medals, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal, so this is a cause that is near and dear to her heart.
Ernst stated, “President Biden’s border crisis is so out of control that his administration is willing to steal from our nation’s heroes and divert resources away from their care.
“This shouldn’t be up for debate: immigrants who have broken our laws should not receive priority over American veterans, period,” she added, vowing to “continue demanding border security and standing up for those who defended our freedoms and way of life.”
According to recent reports, Biden has been leveraging resources from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in order to provide healthcare for illegal immigrants who are being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Ernst has also been very active in promoting Sarah’s Law, which calls for more accountability for crimes committed by illegal immigrants as well as calling on Biden to complete the border wall.
Biden continues to see a significant number of illegal border crossings every month, with March’s numbers at roughly 140,000 encounters, right in the same ballpark as February’s numbers.
Since Biden has taken office, there have been more than 7.4 million encounters at the southern border alone, which does not include totals for suspected gotaways, which adds another two million or more to that number.
